Each month we would like to highlight an author who entices us to read more. Who better to start it off with than the one and only Colleen Hoover

The GOAT of all romance books. The women who brought you Atlas and Lily. The one who makes you want to fall in love and cry about loss all at the same time. Just to think if she never wrote her first book, Slammed, for fun, we wouldn't have gotten all 24 of these uniquely interesting books. She is able to touch on so many raw subjects, like domestic abuse or depression, and help certain people through difficult times in their lives. Or you can just simply understand what someone else might be going though. She pulls on every last heart string and then comforts you after. If you are a first time reader and trying to get into the reading world, she will suck you right it and you will never want to stop.
One of her most popular books is "It Ends With Us". This book is based off her life experiences that her mom had to deal with being in an abusive relationship. She tells a story, similar to her moms, where you want to shake and hug Lily at the same time. This book shows how hard it is to leave someone that you love, who you know who they can be, and who you want them to be. Not a lot of people like to touch on this subject, but I think she is courageous for doing so and has probably helped a lot of people leave those abusive relationships just by writing and sharing it. It is deep and meaningful and a necessary read to understand why people stay, but also why they need to leave.
On the other side of her writing, you have "Verity". A mind twisting thriller and you have no idea who did what. It is a love hate relationship. An awaking that you don't need to be told an ending, but given the information you can create your own. BUT JUST TELL US! Verity is about a mother who is bedridden and her husband falls in love with his assistant. Although, not everything as it seems and things start to go down the wrong road. If books that leave you turning page after page and devouring them in one sitting, then this is the book for you. She also has a special edition of this book with a bonus chapter so the recommendation would be to get the extended edition of course! This book is unlike her other ones and for her to be able to touch on both genre's is simply amazing and why is THE GOAT.
If you haven't noticed, she pulls you in and ruffs you up with all the real, raw things that people experience, and then hugs you with "it is ok, you will get though this". You should give her at least one book to test the waters and see what you think first before you go and write her off. I haven't yet met anyone who didn't like a book of hers.
If you want to get a sense of what kind of person she is, she is always goofing off on social media. You can follow her and be like the rest of the CoHorts. She also created a book box where all of proceeds go to charity. She is one of a kind person, who creates one of a kind books. ENJOY!
